ABOUT US

We introduce to you, the largest academic group in the Lagos State University. EXCEL MINDS Academic Group was founded January 3rd, 2017 at the Lagos State University. Premised on an academic platform, it had the vision of - Providing an avenue where students can get free and quality academic services, thereby promoting increased performance and overall academic advancement. To achieve this vision, it had a mission, which is to – effect positively, the academic lives and enhance remarkably, the performance of all members in their academic and other education related affairs.

Initially starting as a one man, then three-man establishment in 2017 with about a hundred members, it has grown remarkably, to accommodate close to a hundred (100) Executives/Tutors and presently boasts of over 4000 members across the university, who are performing great in their respective disciplines. The resident faculties are; Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS), Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) and Faculty of Education The group at inception was one committed to providing tutorial services. However, as the demand for its services increased over time, it was expanded to an academic group, on the platform of which it started providing counseling services to members, organizing seminars, facilitating trainings, conducting mock examination, preaching self development and personal growth, among a host of other activities and services.

The group was established with the motive of serving humanity, and this has been its watchword ever since. All its activities and services are offered for FREE. The group has grown in that regard to get sponsorship and partnership offers which have been beneficial to its members. The motto of the group is Developing Potentials…..

EXCEL MINDS has an Executive-In-Council which oversees its activities. The team comprises of the; General Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator (Administration), Deputy Coordinator (Academics), Secretary, Financial Director, Publicity Director, Treasurer, and Quality Assurance Director and Faculty Coordinators.  The activities of the group are executed through the tutorship arm of the group (numbering close to 100), who offers academic services, pro bono to participants. We also have a publicity team that publicizes the activities of the group via various social media platforms. 

By virtue of the activities and operations of the group not being  monetized, funds used in running the group’s activities are gotten through donations from stakeholders and members alike, 

We are driven by the passion to impact the little way we can, seeing it as a service to humanity. We are motivated, driven and inspired to see a platform that helps in ameliorating the academic challenges of members and all students alike. Our medium of publicity and passing of information are done mainly through WHATSAPP Channels and open address (by parol). We are propagating SDGs 4 (Quality Education) through our activities.
